Tight End Rankings

The tight-end position continues to be dominated by Travis Kelce and George Kittle as they check in at #1 and #2 at the position. The one tight end that has enough upside to claim the top overall spot is Baltimore's Mark Andrews.

1) Travis Kelce-

Coming off five straight seasons with 100+ targets, Kelce is the most consistent receiving tight end in the league. The Chiefs are loaded again returning 21-of-22 starters and have the most offensive firepower in the league. You can pencil in another 130+ targets and see an uptick in touchdowns as he has positive regression coming. I would have no problem selecting Travis Kelce in the later part of the 2nd round as he is one of the safest picks at that ADP.

2) George Kittle-

The best pure tight end from a blocking and receiving standpoint in the league signed a massive 5-year 75 million dollar contract extension this off-season with the 49ers. While he does not run as many routes as Travis Kelce, he is the more explosive pass-catcher. The 49ers receiving corp has been decimated by injuries, as Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk have missed a ton of camp. With a banged up receiving corps, Kittle will likely be called upon to run more routes instead of assisting as an in-line blocker. I see him reaching the 130+ target share, as he did in 2018. If he can see that type of volume he should outperform Kelce for the highest scoring TE in the league.

3) Mark Andrews-

The Ravens targeted their tight ends on 41% of passing plays last season which was the highest percentage in the league. Mark Andrews target share should see a significant uptick with the trade of Hayden Hurst to Atlanta. With a career average of 14.33 yards per reception, Andrews is one of the most athletic tight ends in the league. He should now see a tier-1 type target share in a passing offense that he led last season. I think he has true TE1 potential and is someone that you can draft a round or two later than Kelce and Kittle.
