Draft Strategies
The simple things needed to rule your draft and make sure your team is a contender right out of the gate.
Volume - When making your first and second round selections, it is imperative that you go with players that see tons of volume. Look for running backs that have a clear cut role, and those that are heavily involved in the passing game. Wide Receivers that are averaging 150+ targets a year.
Consistency - Not only are you looking for a player that produces at a certain level but you're also looking for players that have consistent teammates. I generally do not have much interest in a player that has a terrible QB or team surrounding him. It makes it much easier to take away that player when they do not have to defend anyone else. ie Todd Gurley, J Ajayi, J. Howard etc.
Value - I am not big on selecting a draft strategy before a draft begins. If everyone wants to go WR heavy I will look to get great value at RB in the early rounds of the draft. The contrarion play is a great way to generate success in Fantasy Football.
Rules - I don't have many of them but I do follow a couple. If I take Rogers or Brady in round 4, I will not take a TE till after round 8. If I take a TE in the first 4 rounds, I will not take a QB till late. Do not take a Kicker or Def before 3rd to last round of a draft. I am fine with streaming both positions and you should be too.
Settings - Know your league scoring settings inside and out. If it is a PPR or bonus format. Know what players reach those plateau's the most. If your league rewards TDs, don't take 3 WRs that are 5'10 or a RB that weighs 195 and catches a ton of balls but hardly gets goal-line work.
