Quarterback-
This will be a short write up on the Packers Quarterback situation. Aaron Rodgers has finished as the first or second best quarterback in seven of his last eight healthy seasons. He averages 33.6 touchdowns in 16 regular season games. His touchdown rate is 6.4% in comparison Peyton Manning 5.7%, Tom Brady 5.5%. Oh he also provides you with rushing points, as he has over 2,600 yards and 35 touchdowns on the ground. He is the only quarterback worth selecting in the fourth round. He should win the MVP and throw for 35+ touchdowns this season. PLEASE DO NOT SELECT HIM BEFORE THE 4th. He has had issues with injuries and this is THE DEEPEST position in the draft.
Wide Receiver-
With Jordy Nelson put off to pasture, Davante Adams becomes the clear-cut No. 1 wide-receiver for the Green Bay Packers. If you can catch 74 balls for 885 yards and 10 touchdowns with Brett Hundley as your quarterback for 10 games, you deserve that $58 million dollar deal. I am expecting a huge jump in production this year for Adams as he should see over 140 targets and double digit touchdowns with Rodgers healthy. I would love to get Adams in the second round of my drafts as I currently have him as the 6th best fantasy receiver this season. Rodgers might have retired if the Packers cut Jordy and Randall Cobb this off-season. The Alcoa, TN native will be back in the slot for Rodgers this season as Cobb looks to get back on track. I am throwing out last season as Hundley is one of the worst starting quarterbacks that one can be saddled with. The eight year veteran is getting no respect as his ADP is well over the 125 range and is someone that I am targeting in the late rounds. According to Next Gen Stats, Cobb still can get open as ranked 2nd among wide receivers in average yards of separation (3.7). He has the best quarterback in the game and anyone with a pulse has double digit potential in this offense. Grab him please in your later rounds of your draft he still has top-25 WR potential!
Typically it is year three for Packer receivers to earn the trust of Rodgers in which they start to take off. Geronimo Allison enters what could be a breakout third year with the Packers this season. Rodgers loves wide receivers that are versatile and Allison is just that as he ran 63%, 41% of routes from the slot in his first two seasons. I would expect him to hold off the trio of rookies in J'Mon Moore, Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Equanimeous St. Brown. All three have upside but should not factor in much this season, if I was going to pick one it would be Valdez-Scantling as he has potential out of the slot. Tight End-
In somewhat of a shocking move, the Packers went out and signed Jimmy Garham to a three-year deal. Graham has had troubles with injuries over the past few seasons but his red-zone prowess is something that should be noted. Last season Graham led the NFL in both red-zone targets (26) and targets inside the ten (16). While I do not think he can be the field stretcher in the seam that he once was, I would be stunned if he did not have over 10 touchdowns this season. He currently is going too high for me to take a touchdown dependent tight-end but he will no doubt have some boom and bust weekends this fall. Running Back-
Jamaal Williams looks to run away with the starting job as Aaron Jones will be suspended for the first two games. While some will talk about the 3.6 ypc compared to Jones 5.5 argument, I throw out both numbers as Williams had Hundley as his QB while Jones got Rodgers. Williams is very reliable as he did not fumble and is capable in the passing game while Jones is not. I do believe Jones is more explosive but NFL coaches want reliable players not those that are suspended for the first couple of games for being morons. This is why I am taking Williams in the 8th or 9th round of every single draft. If you can get the starting running back on elite offenses they will for sure deliver production. If Jones ends up beating Williams out so be it, I took a risk and it didn't pay off.
The back that will be involved in all no-huddle situations and a lot of third downs will be Ty Montgomery for as long as his body can stay healthy. The former receiver simply isn't going to be able to handle an NFL workload at running back. I love him in PPR leagues but would not want to invest much in getting him. He will no doubt have several games in which he has near 10 catches for over 100 yards, but I do not want to invest much on a back that will likely play 8-10 games this season. 2018 Vegas Win Total The Packers’ Win Total opened at 10.0. The Packers have won ten or more games in seven of the last eight years in which Rodgers has played more than 15 games. The Packers actually got a GM that will do something during an off-season as they signed free agents. I love elite offenses and elite quarterbacks, that is something this Packers team has. I am hammering the over 10 wins and praying for those porcelain collarbones to stay intact as this Packers team should have an adequate enough defense to make a Super Bowl run. I absolutely love Josh Jackson as I think he will be one of the elite corners in the league in due time.
